Hello all,
at the last meeting soft modems were discussed and later on Twig expressed an interest in the drivers to get a soft modem to work in linux.
The modem that I would like to get running in linux is a agere SV92P PCI Soft Modem Chip Set. If you have any suggestions or input about drivers I would loike to hear about it.
Have a great day all,
Mark

Thanks for that tiggre65.. I haven't even looked at the forums yet. I'll check out the driver I've used and see if it can handle that modem...
installation
Just did another install yesterday... far out.. it went.. less than smoothly. But it worked in the end. If you want to give it a go yourself the file is available from:
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/Ltmodem.html
If ./scanmodem says it works and you have problems I'll be able to help get it installed at the next meeting (I'll bring a hammer to threaten it with)

Also, can we get the model number for that netcomm winmodem that was talked about at the meeting last night? I'd be interested in seeing if the driverI use can do that modem as well and I'd be willing to help get it going at the next meeting (if you can lug your PC along).
